Based on the work Blithe Spirit
Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit at New Theatre in Newtown, Sydney. When novelist Charles Condomine invites the gloriously eccentric medium Madame Arcati to conduct a séance — purely as research for his next book — he gets rather more than notes. The spirit of his glamorous, mischievous first wife Elvira is summoned back from the beyond, visible and audible only to him, and promptly sets about wrecking his comfortable second marriage. As the living and the dead wage a very civilised war over one exasperated husband, Coward's sparkling 1941 comedy spins wit, farce and the supernatural into one of the stage's most beloved entertainments. Elegant, wicked and very funny on the New Theatre stage. See season dates and ticket details below.
