Opera Hunter invites you into a world of enchantment, wisdom, and musical brilliance as we bring Mozart’s The Magic Flute to the stage at Warners Bay Theatre. Conducted by: Christopher Bearman OAM Directed by: Stewart McGowan Music Direction: Mercia Buck OAM This much‑loved opera blends fantasy, humour, and breathtaking music, performed by a superb cast and supported by the magnificent Opera Hunter Chorus and members of the Lake Mac Philharmonic Orchestra. Mozart's The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte) at Warners Bay Theatre, on the shores of Lake Macquarie in the Hunter. One of the best-loved operas ever written, Mozart's final stage work is a fairytale adventure in singspiel style, mixing soaring arias with spoken comedy. Prince Tamino, armed with an enchanted flute, sets out to rescue Pamina from the temple of Sarastro — with the irrepressible bird-catcher Papageno at his side and the vengeful Queen of the Night pulling the strings. Behind the magic lies a story about wisdom, courage and love winning out over fear, carried by some of the most famous music in all of opera, from the Queen of the Night's dazzling 'Der Hölle Rache' to Papageno's cheeky duets. A grand night of live opera on the Warners Bay Theatre stage in the Hunter. See season dates and ticket details below.
